Penerapan Filsafat Montessori dalam Pengembangan Kemandirian Siswa Sekolah Dasar Fase A, B, dan C di SDIT Cendekia Purwakarta
Abstrak
Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh Pendidikan dasar memiliki peran penting dalam membentuk fondasi kepribadian, karakter, dan keterampilan hidup peserta didik. Salah satu aspek karakter penting yang harus dikembangkan sejak dini adalah kemandirian. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif. Metode kualitatif dipilih karena tujuannya adalah untuk mengkaji secara komprehensif dan mendalam (in-depth) mengenai penerapan filosofi pendidikan dalam konteks nyata di lapangan. Penelitian deskriptif bertujuan untuk menggambarkan secara sistematis fakta dan karakteristik objek yang diteliti secara akurat. Dengan pendekatan ini, peneliti dapat memahami makna, proses, dan pengalaman subjek yang terlibat dalam implementasi Montessori. Lokasi penelitian adalah SDIT Cendekia Purwakarta. Subjek penelitian difokuskan pada siswa yang berada di Fase A, B, dan C (setara kelas 1 sampai 6). Selain siswa, subjek kunci yang menjadi informan adalah kepala sekolah, guru, dan perwakilan orang tua. Secara keseluruhan, penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa penerapan filsafat Montessori di SDIT Cendekia Purwakarta berjalan secara parsial namun konsisten serta memiliki pengaruh positif yang signifikan terhadap pengembangan kemandirian anak pada fase A, B, dan C. Meskipun implementasinya tidak sepenuhnya mengikuti standar Montessori murni, adaptasi yang dilakukan memberikan hasil yang relevan, terukur, dan sesuai dengan kebutuhan perkembangan siswa. Fusion antara nilai Montessori dengan nilai-nilai Islam terbukti saling mendukung dan tidak saling bertentangan.
